CAN YOU HEAR IT?
WE ENVISION A WORLD ...
Where human, animal, and environmental health are considered equal and interdependent for our well being.
Where the security and prosperity of our lands and communities also ensures the prosperity of our ecosystems.
Where the economic, societal, and environmental value of our ecosystems are considered in everything we do.
To generate scientific awareness that motivates individuals to incorporate sustainability in our daily lives
To build a unique interactive environment for individuals from different sectors to connect, listen, and collaborate on S&T issues
To catalyze human-centered and evidence-based solutions and empower a new generation of scientists to synthesize cross-sector viewpoints
INDIA IS CALLING
Thousands of us across the country are raising our voices for a better future for our human and environmental ecosystems - in classrooms, living rooms, cafes, courtrooms, and boardrooms. If you’re one of them, we’re listening. We strive to unite voices of tomorrow through collaborative scientific research.
Because the future of India is us - together.
The echo network is a unique movement. Nowhere in the world has there been a precedence for such a network. We believe that positive change will come only when individuals across society work together using science and technology to develop a shared purpose for our collective future.
To build a close-knit and collaborative community where bright minds can tackle real-world problems in human and environmental ecosystems
Every organism on our planet is calling to us. We promise to listen to our society and our natural world and facilitate scientific research for a better tomorrow
We are the science that listens with an open heart
The echo network is a social innovation partnership initiated in 2019 by the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India along with multiple stakeholders. We are a living tool to embed science into the society that helps each individual understand the importance of science in our daily lives and each organization realize its goals toward solving India's systemic problems.
WHY WE ARE NEEDED
WHAT WE DO
Issues like sustainability of our planet cannot be solved by individuals. Solving these problems requires people from different walks of life to come together with a common shared purpose. Shannon Olsson, Global Director at the echo network talks about how we are striving to create this purpose and bring together people from various walks of society to converse, collaborate, and innovate together.
HOW WE WORK
WHO WE ARE
We are a growing worldwide network of individuals from academic, government, industrial, NGO, service and philanthropic sectors.
ECHO NETWORK IN THE NEWS
Prof. Shannon B Olsson
All life on Earth interacts through the language of chemistry. Prof. Shannon B Olsson is a chemical ecologist who listens to nature’s chemical conversations across India’s diverse ecosystems. A Fulbright Scholar, Ramanujan and INK Fellow, Shannon’s research has been featured by CNN, Inverse, Cosmos, TEDx, Syntalk, Sci-Illustrate, Dublin Science Gallery, V&A London, Chemical and Engineering News, and the DST Science Express train.
Her love for nature’s communication is what brought her to conceptualise the echo network with the Principal Scientific Adviser in 2018. Echo represents the two things Shannon enjoys most - Nature and Communication. Shannon loves spending time with her two loves - her husband Petter, and her daughter Grace. They teach her the meaning of empathy and trust every day.
